Kevin started playing hockey at the age of 4 years old, frozen creeks and backyard rinks were a staple growing up. His minor hockey was played in Pincher Creek a small southern Alberta town. His first Jr “A” experience took him to the battle fields of the Peace Caribou League in Fort St. John. Then 3 years in the BCJHL between Victoria (Warriors) and Bellingham (Ice Hawks). He played a year of college in Red Deer then finished with a brief stint in the ECHL(Erie Panthers).
While in Red Deer College Kevin ran the intramural program. He also spent time as an assistant coach with the Bellingham Ice Hawks of the BCJHL directly after his playing career as a 21 year old.
Kevin has worked very closely with Craig now entering his 4th year with Spencer Hockey Academy and has just finished as assistant coach of the South Island Major Midget team. His specialization is a Hockey Skills Development Program called “Pass Perfect Hockey Habits”,which involves use of Video. Kevin brings experience and passion to our coaching staff.
